Mirror Lake Dredging Narrative:
A Case Study in Lake Restoration

Problem; A 12 acre private inland lake created by a dam in the 1940’s rendered unusable for fishing or recreation due to silt accumulation.

Solution: Produce sediment testing and documentation to obtain a EGLE permit, construct a 4.5 acre spoils retention pond in a farmers field approximately ½ mile away, mobilize dredge Ashley with a booster pump and hydraulicly dredge approximately 50,000 yards to the spoils pond, demobilize dredge plant and equipment.

Results; Upon project completion the lake was immediately available for boating and other recreational activities, the lake was also stocked with native trophy fish species including feeders and is now a very viable and growing fishing habitat producing high quality fishing.
